Inline Motor Hoods For Ceilings
Ceiling extractors require a bulkhead (boxing) to be created to house the large body of the hood (unless you are buying a specialist fit between joist model). An inline motor is where the motor is installed separately from the body of the hood. This has the benefit or reducing the height of the hood as you don’t have a motor directly attached to the top of it – so it can mean a smaller bulkhead being built. You install the motor box along away from the hood along ducting run and have the option to use a larger upgraded motor if you have the room.
