What are the Different Dishwasher Sizes?
Dishwashers are quite standardised in size so they can fit in different kitchens easily. There are some differences in the sizing of freestanding and integrated dishwashers with freestanding ones being slightly deeper and taller. Let’s take a closer look at the different dishwasher sizes.
Freestanding Dishwashers
Standard freestanding dishwashers are usually 60cm deep, 60cm wide and up to 85cm high. You can get slimline models which are slightly narrower with only 45cm width.
Integrated Dishwashers
Because they have to be fitted with a cupboard door attached to them, integrated dishwashers are slightly shorter and shallower than freestanding models.
Generally, integrated dishwashers have 55cm depth and about 82cm height. The width is again 60cm for the standard models and 45cm for slimline ones.

How to Measure for a Dishwasher?
So how do you measure your space to ensure your chosen model will fit? Grab your tape measure and follow these easy steps!
- If replacing a previous appliance – Measure the height, width and depth of your existing model.
- Measure the space where your dishwasher will go to find out the maximum size you will be able to fit.
- To ensure your dishwasher won’t stick out too much under the counter, add about 5-7 cm to the depth to account for the pipework.
The same steps apply for both integrated and freestanding dishwashers. For integrated dishwashers we recommend allowing yourself an extra centimetre or two for each measurement. This is to make sure the appliance will slide into the cupboard easily.
